...this question is about suicide. I would hope that we don't have too many "not to be"s out there.
...this question is about suicide. I would hope that we don't have too many "not to be"s out there.
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing, end them.
That would depend on interpretation. Suicide is not necessarily implied, right?

He's debating whether to suffer through watching his evil usurping uncle take over the kingdom and sleep with his mother or to just give on and kill himself.
His answer is "To be," by the way, due to being too afraid of going to hell to actually do it. This is one of the simplest soliloquies in the play.

Suiciders aren't just whiners, Shadow, they're quitters. And we don't like quitters around these parts!

In the Wild West?
Not to be, everyone dies in the end anyway :P.
Oh, and I mean in the play, not life. Though everyone does die O_o.

To be. It means I don't have to write and extra word and it also sounds better than not being something when you could be. That's my interpretation. :D

Suicide is just running away from what you can't handle. Sorry to anyone who had friends who commited suicide don't wanna offend. I chose To Be although I had to keep re-reading the question cause I just watched an episode of House that was titled 'TB or not TB' lol what a coindence.

"To be or not to be" has been parodied so many times it's painful, so it's really not that much of a coincidence. Try being in an International Baccalaureate Programme. If I hear "IB or not IB" one more time I am going to explode.

Exactly, they whine about life, so they quit it. Simple. XP

Meh, I think everyone has suicidal thoughts at some point in their lives. I know I have. But usually it goes away after about a day.

No, 25% of the people don't take the poll seriously and think that it's fun to vote against the norm.

"TB or not TB" was the name of the House episode with the baby epidemic? That was a good episode.

I chose to be because if you kill yourself you go to hell. I really would rather go to heaven.
Suicide... I would never have the guts to do it.

I choose "to be", What purpose the universe has for my being is yet undiscovered, but while i'm stuck here I may as well choose to be, because if I don't have a choice anyway...(i've attempted suicide)...perhaps, as some lyricist, whose name escapes me, said "it's not having what we want, it's wanting what we've got."
SO if i've no choice, I can at least convince part of myself that I DO want TO BE!

That Shakespeare was one sick guy , the answer is definitely to be. If that guy had a death wish he didn't have to take it out on the characters in his plays,Romeo and Juliet shouldn't have died.
I SIMPLY WANT "TO BE"...
