I'm not sure if anyone else has come across this yet, but I thought it would be excellent for NaNoWriMo next year- if anyone here participates on here ><;
Basically, you set a goal, a grace period, and a time limit- if you stop typing for longer then your grace period, bad things happen ><;
It's to encourage people to write and keep writing.
Anyway, here's the link:

I think someone might have said something about this in the Nano thread a few weeks ago. *shrug* Whatever. Sounds useful, if I ever wrote to the word count (I set goals by chapters, and I don't do Nano).

What...sort of bad things?

The keyboard electrocutes you.

I tried it out all through NaNo, but I don't think it works that well for me, because I start worrying about word count, and forgetting what I'm typing.

Ive never tried monitoring myself by word count, but I'll give it a look, sounds interesting.
Usually I monitor myself by how far did I go into the story and how does it relate to what I expected to be able to write that day. I don't recommend this by the way, its a very lazy way to get something done, since usually I don't expect much so my expectations are easily fulfilled.
Yet, word count still sounds artificial for me!

Yeah Im worried about that part myself shadow...
Though you kinda have to choose that first, so its fine I guess...
and when you close the page, it has the option to save your work to your clipboard, I liked that

This is very helpful with NaNo (or anything else of the like), I remember using it a lot when I found it difficult to write, but now that there are no deadlines I find myself avoiding the damn thing. I guess wether it works well or not really depends on the person and the mood, I myself have noticed that at some occasions it has actually improved my writing. Not sure if that is a bad or a good sign...

I have never had the courage to try the Kamikaze mode out. Deleting your work does seem a little too terrifying, so I go with the horrible music instead. : D
