Hey, everyone. I'm another person who saw the link at the Young Writers Society board and decided to join. My username is the same on that board as well.

My online name is Danielle, or Danny, and I'm twenty-one. I go to a community college part time and just started working at Stop and Shop. I write fantasy, and am currently working on a NaNoWriMo story called Spirit's Journey, although I'm really not entirely sure that I like that title. I used to write Star Wars fan fiction but don't any more, although I'm kind of considering getting back in to it a little bit, even if only to write fan fiction about a role play character I created.

Outside of being a Star Wars nut, I'm obsessed with Wicked, Moulin Rouge, Phantom of the Opera, RENT, and a bunch of other movies/plays (really only Wicked and Phantom as far as plays go- haven't seen RENT on stage).

Anyway, just figured I'd introduce myself. So, hi!

Greetings, Danielle! I'm Andy, and we've already spoken. :) I love Phantom and Star Wars also. Enjoy your stay. And drop me an e-mail about affiliating if you still want to.

I like you already.

I'm a Star Wars nut too :). Wicked is AWESOME, so is Moulin Rouge!!!

You know, if you really study up on Star Wars literature you can actually write within the shared world. But it takes a lot of studying to understand where you have room to actually write new stories...and you have to know where different plot points merge. But it can be done.

Good luck on your fantasy novel :)

My mom and I are possibly going to go see Wicked at the end of this month. :D I've seen it once all ready (it was my birthday present when I turned 19), but I LOVED it so much and it's ACTUALLY GOING TO BE IN MY STATE! so I really, REALLY want to go see it again. I appreciate it a lot more than I did back then because I've listened to the music so much.

Yeah, I know. :) When I first started writing, it was basically...more or less Star Wars fan fiction, though it wasn't for at least three more years after that I found out that there was a term for what I wrote. I used to write scripts and stories...although they were very alternate universe. After NaNo, I'm kind of thinking of getting back in to writing Star Wars fan fiction, but it'll be using a Star Wars character I created for role playing.

Thank you! :)

PHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTOM!!!

As you can see, I am obsessed too. Perhaps I am more obsessed than you! Nah--I don't put lyrics in my signature. Hmm.... I also like Star Wars (on good days) and Wicked (finally learned all the lyrics), but everything else I haven't seen.

Welcome to the site!

Unfortunately, no, I didn't really design it. I have absolutely NO artistic skills. All I did was find the picture via Google or Photobucket (one of the two) and slap on the pretty text. :| The signature on the original picture is too small for me to be able to tell who it's by. I mainly just use that banner 'cause it's pretty, and the girl in the picture is actually fairly similar in physical appearance to my main character as far as I can tell.

On the subject of musicals, any of you listen to Avenue Q or Urinetown?

Rotfl. My guess is that you might be more obsessed...especially if you've been able to get through reading the book. I got the book for Christmas last year and have barely read anything from it.

I know MOST of the lyrics for Wicked. Specifically "As Long As You're Mine" and "Defying Gravity," although I probably don't sing either of those in the right key at all. I don't sing very well, either, and I can blame my father for that.

You should go see one of them if you ever, ever get the chance. They're both amazing. And if you can't go see Phantom, then rent the 2004 movie. I watched that first before seeing the play so I prefer the movie a bit more, kinda, as far as the music goes, but they're both amazing.

Oh, and thanks for the welcome! XD

Yeah. I've read the book--it's not quite like the musical. xD On the other hand, it was better second time through.

I've attempted to record myself singing songs from Wicked several times already, but whenever I hear my voice on recording it sounds amateurish. Eh--I'll try again tomorrow?

Aand--regarding the 2004 movie. I've observed that people who've seen the movie first prefer the movie, and people who've seen the Broadway show first prefer the play. I saw the movie first, so when I saw the Broadway, it was an enormous let-down. Also, I'm hopelessly attracted to darkness, so ... leather glove-ness! Unless you too are hopelessly attracted to darkness, you probably won't like the movie as much as meeee ....

A year or two ago, I came across a website with a Movie v. Broadway--which is better? discussion. Naturally, I went up to greet her read it. The entire thread was populated with Broadway supporters--and the few movie supporters posted messages like this:

GERAD BUTLER IZ SEXXXXXY!!!! U SUUUUK

After that, I vowed to love both with equal passion. This is not very difficult, as each Broadway show is different (love it when the audio techs mess up), and Howard McGillan made me cry all the way home.

I wouldn't expect it to be very much like the musical, since the book was done before the musical. And the writing is so...old fashioned from what I can tell.

I saw the movie first, and got to see the show for my birthday last year. A friend from my theater class was obsessing with the movie, and over the summer (so like...the summer before last I guess) I rented the movie and fell in love. The show was still amazing and I'm glad I got the opportunity to see it (especially since my mother has seen it twice. Once with my older sister for an 8th grade trip she chaperoned, and the second time as a birthday present a few years ago from her friend. I was SO jealous when she told me she was going to see it a second time). I don't know if I would say I'm attracted to the darkness...I am definitely attracted to the Phantom, though. The mask makes him so much more sexy.

Lol, Gerard Butler IS sexy, but I would never go doing crap like what they did. -Rolls eyes- I don't remember the name of the actor I saw play the Phantom, but he was pretty good. And the guy who played Raoul actually really kind of reminded me of the actor who played him in the movie. Although that name does kind of sound familiar...I would have to find the playbook from when I saw it.

!! I saw the show for my birthday too! That makes us evil twin sisters! Okay, perhaps not.

My parents actually saw the movie before me. I was very young then (...), and they thought I wouldn't be able to handle the "graphic scenes of violence". Then, on Valentine's Day, my mom gave my dad the soundtrack, and they played it on the stereo while summarizing the plot. I was enthralled, and I went on to listen to it every minute of the day, with the goal to memorize all the lyrics.

My parents decided to take me to see the movie on the big screen, but they made me cover my eyes during the death scenes, which was really upsetting. (I didn't get to see those until I took the DVD, inserted it into my laptop, and watched it in the hotel room around midnight.)

I wouldn't say I'm attracted to Butler as much as I'm attracted to what the Phantom does and says and how he moves on screen--oh wait, that's Butler. Never mind. Then again, Butler was never a murderer. (We hope.)
