View Full Version : What do you know?
So, it's a YWS migrant! [Suzanne] I hope to help the site out, I love helping new sites. I'll put advertisements up on some other forums I know of, and put a link on my life journal...
Anyway, about myself. I'm currently working on my novel (it is November!) which is going quite well apart from week two blues. I am also working on producing a play with my school's theater troupe. It's only a one act, but it is still something. (I've wondered: does this make me a playwright?) I dabble in poetry, but I do not call myself a master in the least, but I'm... relative. I enjoy Russian literature, but I'm finding that I like a lot of anything, if you can convince me enough. Though, I tend never to touch fantasy or scifi (apart from the occasional modern vampire tales, hah.)
Hope to make some new friends here too! Anything I should know before I venture out into the forums to eat poetry? -- er, be a friendly person. ^_^ (Actually, I have zero time to critique, haha)
Hey, Suzanne! It's great to see you joined. And thanks for your help! If you want to use any images, you can go here (http://www.youngwritersonline.net/links.php) and find some ready to use. :)
Anything you might need to know is in sticky threads in the Newbie Zone. Though if you came from YWS, most of it is probably the same.
No fantasy? Aww...Don't worry about time to critique during NaNo. It's enough work as it is. How many words have you done so far?

Hi, welcome nice to meet you!
I think that does make you a playwright. I mean, I did the same thing last year, and I consider myself a playwright. Yeah... plays are awesome.

Welcome!
I'm intrigued. Russian literature? I want to know more! Seriously, I'm rather curious about Russian lit.

Am I too late? Is she gone? Why can't you people wait to join until I'm online, eh? Anyway, welcome. If you post your stuff, I'll probably read it and--run away. Because it'll be too good, too long, and too I dunno--happy?
Nah. Just PM me or something. In fact, there are so few stories on here, I'll probably crit yours eventually. But I only need another 30 points to get that last virtual-book that I want.

Yay, Clau! *huggles* So... how does a newbie greet a newbie?
*whispers* It appears to be safe. Uh... spread... out? I dunno, the only movie I've seen with military-like scenes is Star Wars... XD
Heh, you guys are so welcoming! *hugs all*
I hit 20k a few days ago, but I wrote only 200 words wednessday, and zero yesterday. I'm going for 75k or more so... >_> It's really difficult with all that I have to do.
Russian literature? I love Dostoevsky. ^_^ Tolstoy? I haven't really read enough to give my opinion--I love Dostoevsky. hah, you understand my point, I would think?
If you post your stuff, I'll probably read it and--run away. Because it'll be too good, too long, and too I dunno--happy?
possibly, possibly, and completely no. hah, A lot of my friends get on me for the fact that I haven't written anything particularly happy, and if it is happy, there is usually something bad about it. I'm not a puppy dog and rainbow kind of person. :D Either way, I 'm a believer in two crits per one post, so... eventually I will post something!!
Again, thanks you guys. I'm already enjoying this place. :D

I am so confused about your name right now ...
But nevermind. Hello. :)

Depressing? Line me up. I'll probably crit something that makes me cry. Like ... George R. R. Martin. Actually, I don't think he's made me cry. Hmmm--
Well, that's all I have to say. Zuzy is almost as awesome a name as Carraka! (But mine isn't based on my name, and people call me "car", so I guess you win.)
