Anyone here a fan of what I see as the second greatest video game series ever! (first is Legend of Zelda! third is Mario) If so what are your favorite games, and why do you think so? Let's see if there are any fellow Final Fantasy fans frolicking furiously from far away. (I love Alliteration!!!!!)

I love all those RTS games: Starcraft 2 (It's coming out soon! :D :D :D :D), Supreme Commander, Age of Mythology, Age of Empires, Warcraft...

...the sad thing is, I can only play them on my friend's computer, cuz' mine sucks....

I only liked FF8, but I never got much time to play it.

By the way, Mario is the #1 game, then Zelda. Sorry, it's the truth. Why? Because without Mario, Zelda would never have existed. Mario is Nintendo.

I've played 1, 2, 4, and Tactics Advance. Never played any of the 3D ones. 1 and 2 were crap. 4 was awesome, and I loved the gameplay in TA, because there's strategy involved, and it's not dependent so much on stat levels.

You didn't like 12!!!, I'm in lunch right now but when I get home (and after homework, and writing my daily piece for NaNo, and attempting to critique...) then I'll come here and explain the ones I like and which one is my favorite. It's not 12 but 12 had some very very good things that I fell in love with.

I've never played Final Fantasy, but it still looks awesome. But, just for reference, it is not the best game ever. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion erases the competition completely. Not just Best RPG ever, best game ever created! If you haven't played it, you're a newbie to RPGs and Fantasy Action/Adventure games.

Oblivion is crap in comparison, yeah its good graphics, yeah its good customizablity, but it sucks. The storyline is nothing compared to final fantasy and its just not as good. And 12 was okay, just not as good as others.

Hey, I don't give a shit about the storyline. Well, I do a bit, but it doesn't matter as much as the gameplay. Much better than Final Fantasy. It was voted best RPG at E3.

I've played 7, 8, 9, 10, 10 part 2, and twelve. I own 9, 10, 10 part 2, and twelve. However, 12 was a load of BS, I can't believe I spent $60 on that crap! 9 and 10 were my favorites!! A really good role playing game is Xenosaga I-III, I have all three of these. Xenosaga is one of the best roleplaying series out there. It may not rival the FF series, but it is the second best.

Ok, here are my opinions.  Hope you all like to read (kind of redundant here isn’t it?)

These are of course only based on the ones that I own, which are the only ones I’ve played.

Final Fantasy VII

Perhaps it is because I wasn’t into this one when it first came out. I wasn’t introduced into Final Fantasy yet but this game just doesn’t work for me for two reasons but first I’ll tell you why it is good. The story, which is the ingredient for success in these games, is incredible. Quite possibly it is one of the best ones out there (not just Final Fantasy but in general). It was just such a great story. The second great thing is Sephiroth, that is one bad guy, the coolest bad guy in history!!! No one can top him, and now the bad things. Aeris, what is the point of her except for that whole emotional scene with sephiroth. The other thing is that I can’t get over that when I’m playing I’m fighting with lego people, that just doesn’t work for me.

Overall: 8/10

Final Fantasy VIII

The Graphics, the trigger button, the junction system. So many new things added here that it was hard to keep up. Action wise this game improved on seven except with the GF system which could take a lot of time away especially during times when you had to get out of a building as fast as you could. The junction system works but is a bit strange. The Graphics were as good as they could get back then, meaning that they were excellent, no more legos those are actual people fighting. The story, while good, didn’t have the magic of the seventh one.

Overall: 8/10

Final Fantasy X

Here it is. Perhaps I should just stop and tell you now that this is my favorite one; this is the one that will remain my favorite video game right up there with Kingdom Hearts forever. The game looks beautiful, it is exquisite in every small detail. The story is magnificent and better than the seventh one I feel because of the actual voice acting. I actually cared for the characters and it made me very sad inside at many parts. The character design is excellent, the monsters, weapons, and voices are all unique. There are, however, two main things that stand out far above all the others. First off is the battle system which is vastly improved by the small ability of being able to switch your characters in and out of battles instantly at the click of a button. This makes it much easier to train up all of your characters. Second, and my favorite, is the music. Oh God, the music in this video game is so wonderful that it barely bumps Zelda Ocarina of Time for best Video Game Soundtrack. I was just blown away by every single minute of the game because of the music playing in the background. The perfect game, the best game ever for the PS2.

Overall: 10/10

And that’s all I have time for I also have FFX-2 and FFXII which I both liked.
