Paypal Donations and Other Stuffs

We just added a new feature to the site: a paypal donation option. You don't have to give us money. It's a donation, so it is voluntary and regardless of whether you do donate or not is irrelevant because the site will still be around even if we get only a penny. We do ask that if you like the site, feel free to throw us a couple bucks here and there. It helps pay for hosting and the like.

On a side note Andy has made some minor changes to the site. If you go to a person's profile it will show all the groups that they are a part of in a little area, and you can also go to those group pages. Also, the Items Earned (the title) now links back to the bookstore. There you have it!

On a side note, anyone who donates more than $10,000 will get a free critique from me, and maybe some points for the bookstore. :laugh:

On a more serious note, any amount to help pay for hosting is greatly appreciated. Every penny goes towards the site.

Why won't they let you use Paypal? That just seems silly to me. It's the most secure way to transfer funds because the banks don't even interact. Paypal deals with it and neither party sees the other's info.

Understandable. There is NO obligation to donate. None whatsoever. If you can't or don't want to, then don't. We won't think any differently of you :).

Well, my parents only used PayPal for a short time and that was for use on eBay. If I ask them to create an account for me, they'll ask why and I won't be able to say to donate to a writers' site because they'll say no. Yes, you can be angry at them now, because I am aswell.

Umm...short of sending money to me directly I don't think so. You can buy stuff from our Amazon store, which is like buying from Amazon anyway, and we get a small cut of the money you used, but if you're just wanting to donate that's sort of a waste of your money unless you already want stuff from Amazon.
So, short of sending money directly to me or Andy...I don't think we have any other method.
If you really want to donate perhaps you can ask your parents if they'd be willing to use their paypal account, or get one for themselves. No personal information other than an email is given in paypal transactions. It's the service used by Ebay now.
