Welcome to YWO.
I write fiction, never done nonfiction, so I don't think I'd be any help with that. Do capitalize you "i"s, though, and feel free to PM me for anything.

Hello Lykaios
I was actually born in England but all my family are from Ireland.
I have recently been given a publishers contract for a book im writing on the Grosvenor family, but Im nearing the end of the book and I find myself wanting to write adventure/fantasy for teenage readers.
What do you write? Read?

I write satire. Pretty much the only guy who does here.
I like reading books with alot of wit involved, espeacially if the writer uses alot of sarcasm.
I was practically brought up on sarcasm what with my dad and aunty using that as their day to day vocabulary.

I write children's fantasy/historical/random stories or things that are meant to be novels but never get finished. :)
I was born in N. Ireland but live in England, some of my family come from there though.

Good. Feel free to crit my novel, then, though there is a certain lack of wit. Remember to read the guide of critiques, if you don't already know how to properly crit.

I live in the south-west of England.
It rains too much, but it's not even proper rain, just drizzle and spit.
I used to live in Norfolk. I was nice there. ^^

Er . . . Green. (Because it rains so much)
Where I live there's lots of moorland where there's this funny grass that's like moss and it's all bouncy. In the sun it looks really pretty but at the same time nearly baren, a mixture of browns and greens with huge hills and big rocks scattered all over them, that we like to call tors. The weather can change any time as it has it's own micro-climate so being up on the moors can be really dangerous sometimes. Lots of people come on holiday here, so there's loads of mess but it's still pretty and the beaches are nice. If you ever come to the south-west, vistit the English Riveira. :)
Where I used to live it was flat, flat as a pancake and very green. There are lots of small windy roads, and everywhere there are fields and rivers. Norfolk has been sinking into the sea for centuries so global warming's a little worrying there. It has a hug sky, 180 degrees of it and amazing sunsets. There's also, not many motorways, just minor roads and Norwich is an amazing place to shop. There's a castle and a library made of glass, and an old fashioned market with multi-coloured rooves.
Mud on smaller roads, busses are all dirty and charge a lot. Some poeple are nice and some aren't. School uniforms aren't nice at all, and there seems to be a lot of roadworks. The politics are a shambles and the credit crunch is very problematic, some people are even tapping petrol from cars. The education system is even worse but I won't rant about that. And apparantly Britain's youths are all thugs that run around in groups of knife-loving hoodies, but that's a lie, it's only a few. :D
What else do you want to know?

Yorkshire's nice, I went on a school trip there twice and we stayed near a town called Settle. There are lots of sheep and more hills than there are in Devon. :)

Actually, the chavs are now in fewer numbers. You tend to see more rock-oriented people around now (not so much emos, but guys with long hair and wearing band t-shirts). The stupid thing is they have a Blue Banana (a shop, the gathering place of all emos, goths and punks) and Bank (one of the many shops for chavs) next to each other. Not a good combination.
Danny

Sorry for the confusion, Danny. :p Donny is a place. Shadow and I live near it. I take great delight in poking fun at where we live. :D

However, I must say pirates are quite cool. But then again so are ninjas.

My brother uses chatspeak, but he's not very good with English so I can't tell if it's just his bad spelling . . .
My school's forum is full of spam, full to overflowing and their still pumping it, I don't know how the teachers stand it.

Maybe they think all kids are just like that...? I don't know.
What kills me is when people actually say chatspeak stuff in a conversation. xD
EDIT: Have you noticed that you have 32 points instead of 30, Lyk? Weird.
Lykaios
10-06-2008, 07:22 PM
