What do you think of having a forum section where each person gets their own thread? Sort of like a mini blog, you could update it, post your writing progress or current projects, etc?

Well ... that's what my blog is for.

I don't think I'd use it, but maybe other people who don't want to get blogs would ...

I would definitely use it. A YWO blog? Would we be able to include accounts of our... -cough- ..."personal lives?" :)

It might take up bandwith though.

I would totally use it. It makes fangirling a lot easier.

And I want seikochan to break a billion legs at once. <3

I think that'd be cool. I'm not quite sure if I 'd use it (or I might. I don't know), but I like the idea, at least.

I'd use it. Though it'd be boring, I'd enjoy doing it. x)

Can't we have this be a feature in everyone's profile? I think it's retarded to open up a forum section just so people can have threads to babble about themselves. That would be impossible to navigate and would be disorganized. But something in profiles would be nice, as I've mentioned to you before.

Shaun's got a good point.

I would go for this. Now I'm getting excited thinking about it :)

Well, I think it's a great idea Andy, so I support it :)

Yay! I like the concept of being able to babble about ourselves. :sparrow: (<-- utterly unrelated, i just really wanted to use that smiley.) I miss my old Xanga, I haven't had a real blog since then, and I always feel somewhat awkward writing facebook notes, because you have to tag people usually to get anyone to read them. *shrug* So yeah, I like this idea. Part of the profile or a thread or whatever, I don't really care about the format.

My problem with this is it looks very much like a new place where people will just spam, and if we're going to have that here, why not just have people have their own blogs with feeds that show up in their profiles? It seems ridiculous to have a section of threads that people can create. It'll be impossible to keep track of, organize, etc. It will be just like the newbie section: spam spam spam. And Zombie hates spam...

And the problem with blogs is that they're not exactly something we can just check a box to enable. The official one costs money.

I, for one, would love a blog (even if it is just a profile feature). I would totally use it.

That sounds pretty neet.

You're telling me there is no feature like the Twitter one that we can put into the profiles that posts brief descriptions of posts from blogs?

I'm just saying, I absolutely against a forum section for people to spam. Sorry. If we're sitting around saying "don't spame in the Newbie Zone" and then we create a section which is intentionally designed to be a spam box, that seems ridiculous. There are a lot of things I've already suggested to do instead of an unorganized forum section, a feature we don't need to make YWO better.

I like was Shaun was saying before. Can we have a section in our profiles that shows like "Newest Post on [Insert Name Here]'s Blog" and it shows the post and a link to the blog. That sounds like it would be just as good.

Oh, posts from other blogs. I thought you wanted a blog system installed on YWO. Which "why not just have people have their own blogs" kind of suggested.

Yeah, I can do that.

Now that you mention a blog system I want it, but you'll never give me anything cool like that so I have to settle for pedestrian stuff. Meanie.
It might be cool if we were rich and awesome to be able to offer free space for people to have their blogs or mini webpages, but we don't need that right now. When we're rich we're buying our own server.

But yeah, I think having an RSS feed in our profiles would be nice. Might inspire more people to get blogs.

What do you think about having an official page for member websites/blogs? Like something that would be its own page in the drop down menu somewhere. You could teach me how to edit it and I could do that. Shouldn't be too hard once I see how each link has to be done and all. HTML on its own isn't too difficult for simple stuff like that, but PHP might be trickier.

Just a thought.

I like Shaun's idea of having it in our profiles, but if the official one costs money then it's a hard decision. At least it would be for me.

That would be so cool. I would probably use it lots too. Yeah, great idea!
