I've noticed these new ads talking about high fructose syrup and I'm curious what you all think about this. The ads are all basically two people sitting or standing (different people each one) and one person goes "oh, that's got high fructose syrup!" and the other goes "So?" From there it goes "well you know what they say about it right?" "What do they say?" "Well...um..." "That it's made from corn?"
So, the commercials are making it seem like high fructose syrup has been given a bad rap.
What do you think?

I personally think it's hilarious that the manufacturers of corn syrup find it necessary to play these ads.
On the other hand, they do have a point. High fructose corn syrup is just sugar, and it's no worse for you than sugar is.

I think that it has been given a bad wrap...
But the comercials are stupid.

Why do you think they are stupid? I personally find it interesting because I've been just like those people who say "oh it's bad for you" but never really knowing why...sort of like I was told it all the time, but nobody really explained it to me. Still, now that I think about it, it really is just sugar...sugar is sugar is sugar...it as benefits and non-benefits...

*Raises hand*
I don't really care.
I'll still eat the shit even if I know its bad for me.
Like after seeing Super Size me, I still eat at McDonald's and all kinds of other places.
Why?
Cuz I can.
And cuz I don't give a damn.

I really don't have a reason, I guess I find it stupid that they made the ad in the first place.

Supersize Me only proved that eating McDonald's all the time and overeating is bad for you...which is the same with any food. If you eat too much of anything it's bad for you...even fruit. I still eat McDonald's too because I don't believe it's going to kill me to have a burger once in a while. It will kill me if I eat nothing but McDonald's, three times a day, and over eat every single time.
I understand why they have to make the ads...in a lot of ways they need to tell people "hey, that ain't right" so that people know that it's not really as bad as some people have said it is...

Yes, but they could have easily made an ad that is a great deal less stupid. This one just seems like they're trying too hard to make it catchy and stuff and instead it's just annoying. I approve of their message, just not their method of presenting it.
