No.
We are YWO.
That's how we've advertised, that's how we've been.
That's how we've started and that's how we've lived.
And that's how we (better) will stay.

I agree with Zombified. It's always been YWO and besides, YWO has a better ring to it then YWA.
I agree with Zomb.
But thanks for suggestion Snappy. Don't ever think we're gonna think you're a newb stirring trouble, it's good to make your suggestions to help the site.:D

I actually prefer YWA. But I doubt we can change now. Too much has gone on and we can't really change now. It's not just a case of changing the site's title and making a new logo, we gotta change way more.
Perhaps if this site got so large that it started to branch out, then maybe the collective groups of them all could be called something new. For the moment, though, I don't think it will work:
It's a long name. Remember, people will have to say this in conversation, and typing the url also.
All the sites that link to us already link to YWO. If we change it, we're going to lose a lot of links, as well as all the pages Google has stored for their search results. It would be like starting from scratch.
Thanks for the suggestion, though. Maybe some day, but not today.

I have a feeling that when we get big enough where we need to consider doing things that go beyond the Internet that we'll have to file for non-profit or something, and YWA will likely be our non-profit company name. For now, we're YWO.

How did YWO get started? Is there an archive or history that I can look through?

It was just... started. The website was created by the admins, back in the day. And it just grew from there. YWO resulted from a sort of argument (which I contributed to quite a bit).

Agreed, you started it, but I caused it. And THAT is definitely not something to be proud of. But we're all happy now, aren't we?

I'm happy to have YWO. The alternative was to not have anything. YWO is certainly kickass.

This is the stuff I'd like to read about. Argument with whom?

It was a stupid thing I did. Basically, people were saying bad things about Shaun (we were members of TW at the time) and I told him. That upset him a lot and he decided to leave. Because I thought it was the right thing to do, I left too. What happened in the few days after that I do not know. After a few days, I got an e-mail from Shaun saying he and Andrew had made YWO. And that's it.

Notice how nobody said it was you until you did :P. Does someone have a guilty conscience?

It wasn't you, Imelda. I was angry at Hypo cos he percieved me as a dumbshit back then (and most likely still does). So, I decided to get payback and it backfired on me. Plain and simple.

I don't see it as a backfire, Shadow. I think this would have happened eventually anyway. Andy and I both weren't happy with the way things were going and I'd already considered leaving and possibly starting up my own site. It just happened that all that happened right at the same time, Andy and I talked about making YWO, and that was that. YWO was made and we're glad we did it. It's been a lot of work (mostly on Andy's part, because he's doing all the coding and what not and I'm mostly just trying to get ads and advertising about YWO), but it's totally worth it. And Zombified and I are in talks about showing up at a convention next year to spread the word even more. Possibly at the LA Times Book Festival, but probably at something smaller.

But the TWers didn't see it that way. All they say was me doing something idiotic and getting a member they all liked a lot to leave. Anyway, if they still talk about that now and/or are even bothered about it, they're sad and weird.

The thing is, I was already planning to leave. I didn't like where TW was going. You just made me leave sooner, and if they throw a fit, well maybe they should have thought about how much they supposedly liked me when I ran for supermod :P.
It really doesn't matter now. We have YWO, and you're awesome :).

Did you mean I'M awesome, or did you make a mistake and mean YWO is awesome. Cos I agree with both. xP
Shaun

Both :P.

Hehe, thanks. Oh and... you're sometimes kinda cool, too. xP
Hey, I started that argument! I claim credit for the creation of YWO. :p
Good gravy, that's the second time in a week you've claimed credit for something ludicrous!

Ahahaha! I caught you! HA! Wait...oh crap...that's not good! If I caught you being wrong at something that must mean...that must mean...
*BOOM* *BANG* *NUCLEAR KABOOOM!* *RUSSIAN NUCLEAR KABOOOM!*

Duh, they're Russian and remember, the Russians don't have souls! :P

Cos then they'd most likely me aimed at America. Though that's not as bad cos I'm english. x)
Shaun
09-15-2008, 09:33 PM
They're aimed at England too, but only like 5 of them because that's probably all it would take to flatten the island...and yes, that sucks.

You dissin' my small country, Shaun? What we don't have in size, we make up for in brains. At least our army officials know not to bomb their own troops. xP
Shaun
09-16-2008, 10:29 PM
No, I'm not dissing your country, I'm just remarking that it's a small country and that Russia likely doesn't have a lot of nuclear bombs aimed that direction due to that fact.
The English bomb their own troops too and they have in the past sent soldiers into combat to die instead of using strategy for the better result. You guys aren't impervious to retarded mistakes.

...I was joking? I was acting on the stereotypes that spread through England that America don't care about their troops because they have loads. -rolls eyes- xP

Maybe if they weren't having tea and crumpets every time they'd listen to us when we told them we were on our way...honestly...

I detest crumpets. But only coffee beats tea! x) Pure brit, me. <------- Brit slang
