I'm Dunnskee, and some of you from TW will know me.
I was brought here by GeorgeMichael (hyperactiveboi to me).
My only question: Are the rules on vulgarity strict?

I'm not really clear about the vulgarity, as I don't curse/post inappropriate stuff, but I think it's okay, as long as it's not excessive. As for what "excessive" means, I'll wait for a mod to explain.

Hey, welcome to the site. I think I can answer your questions.
Umm, Hypo is here, not very active, but here nonetheless.

As for cursing/vulgarity. Generally speaking we don't have a problem with the occasional curse word and certainly no problem with works of literature that have cursing in them (provided the cursing has a purpose other than as shock value). We do ask that sigs not be vulgar or disgusting. I.E. - disturbing sexual references, vulgar language, etc. Simply because your sig is the one thing that can't really be avoided. Some can avoid a conversation they don't enjoy, but if you post around the site, they can't really avoid a sig.
In conversation, try to at least be respectful. Yes, cursing is fine, if it has a purpose. Don't curse for practically no reason. We're not going to have a fit, though, if you say "for fucks sake" or something. This is a site comprising of people primarily in their teenage years, so we expect there will be some cursing. Just, keep it to a minimum and don't be disgusting. There may be younger folk here too.

Does that clear it up? We also have a policy of asking you nicely first to cut something off. Andy and I aren't trying to be rude, annoying dictators. If we feel you're out of line, we'll politely bring it to your attention. If you continue to be rude and not follow the rules and simply treat everyone like complete garbage with no regard for personal respect, then there might be an issue. As that hasn't been an issue thus far, I don't think we'll have to worry about it in the near future.

I think that was long-winded enough. Hopefully it explains things properly though.

I dunno. I guess I kinda chickened out of TW (check out Hypo's sig there and you'll see how I got a taste of my own medecine :D) when I read quite a few things that were blatantly religiously intolerant that the mods turned a blind eye to - not implying anything towards the mods - I think they're doing a swell job managing a site with a 1000+ members - but I don't think I can go there with a straight face anymore. But yeah, I pop by every now and then to see how things are going. Still, I have to thank Imelda for sending me that Happy Birthday e-mail! She is such a mom! :crazy:
