Alright, we're going to be changing a couple things about the magazine. None of this is going to affect the contracts sent out, so please don't be concerned about that. We're opening up submissions to anyone. Part of the reason for doing this is because we want to release the first issue before Christmas and we can't do that given the submission lull as it stands, and part of the reason is that this will allow us to be listed in several market listing sites, which will be good for the magazine in general.
We will still hold a preference for YWO members, however, and will encourage people wanting to submit to join. But we don't want to hold the issue off forever and ever. It's not really fair to the people already in the magazine to have to wait for a year or more before the issue comes out.
So, we will be changing the policy a bit to allow anyone to submit. If you have extremely strong objections to this, please let me know, otherwise feel free to submit poetry and short stories as you please!

I have no objections. I came up with another short story idea this morning. Actually, I had an idea yesterday, but today it developed into a character and a background story.
When I remember to get the go ahead from my parents, I'll probably submit three stories at once.

Yeah, I've no problems. Sounds good, actually, or else everyone would be waiting a year for it to come out.
I wish I could think of a short story, though... :p

Carr, you can't submit more than one short story at a time :P. But you're welcome to submit one and then another if that one gets rejected and so on. We give little mini-critiques every time we reject something to sort of help you understand why we didn't like something.
I don't necessarily have a problem telling TW about it, unless you think we may get a lot of joke submissions or spam because of it.
And yes, we'll be listed on Duotrope, Ralan.com (since we do take genre fiction), and anywhere else we can get a listing at.
Thanks for the support guys!

So, the minor-restriction is still in effect? If so, I still can't submit.

Ah, then I don't know which story to submit. Suppose I e-mail all of them to you and ask hypothetically, which ones would be accepted?

I wish the mag could be just us, but I know that if we don't open up submissions, the issue is never going to be filled. (Also, I just realized that the Microsoft Word shortcut for italics works on this site. Cool!) So I'm ok with this.
I do have a story I want to submit, which is currently going through the hardcore editing phase. Or at least, it would be if anyone would ever crit it! *points subtly to link in sig*

Well, if it's open to the public, it's good advertising. Well, better advertising, seeing as the mag is gonna be advertising in itself.

Shadow, read the guidelines. There is no minor restriction if you donate works. It's written in there. This allows you to submit and donate that work to us. It's not going to be the same as the normal way, but it does prevent us from having to do the contract thing with you if you don't think your parents will sign it or something.
Carr, just submit one at a time. If you like all three, can't hurt to submit them in random order :P.
Starry, I agree, I'd like this to remain as a YWO only thing, but at this point I want to be able to release the first issue...

...WHAT? I was lead to believe the opposite, that my paedophile-accusing parents would have to let me sign a contract or something! EEEEARGH, why did I not learn this earlier? Ah well, I still have nothing to submit AS OF YET!

If you want to get paid you have to sign a contract. I edited this little thing into the guidelines a long time ago. It's written into the website now (the link in the navbar) as part of the guidelines. You can donate your work as a minor, we just can't guarantee to pay you because in theory if you couldn't get your parents to sign a contract you wouldn't have a paypal account either :P.

Ah well, I don't need your money. Tis irrelevant to my cause.
-rubs hands together menacingly-
Hehehehehehe...
I don't mind at all, its a good idea.

It's fine with me.
Though I'm not sure of how it would be....accepted on TW.

*shrugs* I'm not too terribly concerned. If they submit, great, if not, oh well. I think this will be a good idea in the long run in all fairness.

If anyone has any pull over there I'd really like some artwork too. I'm totally okay with advertising us over at DA.

Wait for it...
-waits expectantly for the annoyance to arise-
I WILL DO IT! As soon as I (wait for it)... get my graphics board! And if I'm any good. You might want to try Majyk again, if you don't feel like waiting or even don't have enough time.

I'm cool with Stirly if you could get her to actually do it. I'm cool with anyone wanting to work on a cover design. In fact, I would love it if you guys submitted cute little comics and what not to put in the mag. Seriously. Artwork too!

I could always try, but it doesn't looks like you need me anyway. And I don't really do comics, so... Yeah.

What are you talking about? I still want that image for the t-shirt! If course I want more of your art :).

Heh, okay ^^.
Did you have an idea for a cover design? I could always try one...
Shaun

We're going to have one of the logos on the cover. It'll likely be Carr's for the first issue because I can't get ahold of Guessed.
However, we could always use cool cover art stuffs :).

Ahgah.
I was just talking to Guessed on AIM today, but I assumed that since s/he had returned, s/he would've gotten in touch with you.
-goes off to find him/her again-
