For what reason did you choose your particular username?
Tsuki

I was trying to learn Japanese at the time and I wanted a name that no one else would likely have.
It worked. (:
Are you still learning Japanese? Does your name stand for anything?
Double A

My sister and I, and our two friends have a club, and my nick-name of my username is Double A. :)
Shaun

I didn't have a choice. Andy made me use it because he's the right hand of the devil. It's a conspiracy to defame all people named Shaun everywhere.

No, I'm not. It was too hard to learn by myself on the internet using dial-up. :P
Tsuki means moon, and Hikari means light.

Hmm. I'm not quite sure why I originally picked this. I used to use my real name, but got bored of that after a while.
Carraka
09-09-2008, 09:46 PM
I used to use Ed, but I scouted out TW before joining, and I realized that there was already someone on the site named Ed. So when I posted on Andy's blog a while later, I knew I needed a new username (preferably gender-undefined), and Carraka popped into my head for no reason.
What an amazing story.
Zombified
09-09-2008, 09:53 PM
Simple really.
I like zombies. Why not be named after something you like?
The act of being turned into a zombie is called zombification. Thought Zombified was a cool name.
I still do.
:P
Starry
09-09-2008, 10:21 PM
"starryskyes" actually came from MapleStory, sadly enough. I was creating my...third character, I think (this was several years ago-- don't shoot me) and all of my characters were combinations of two words with "x" at the beginning and end of the name, and because I was and still am totally neurotic I wanted to continue the pattern. My first two or three choices were already taken, and then xStarrySkyx just popped into my head. I used that for a while, eventually got sick of MapleStory, and stopped playing. Like a year ago, when I finally got sick of the AIM screenname I created when I was like 7, I used starryskyes (yes, the misspelling has always been intentional, if anyone cares), with a few random numbers added on to the end (my birthday is 12/3, and it's always bothered me that I could never use it for screennames or passwords or anything). Now, I use starryskyes on any new online account I have.
...wow, that was an unnecessarily long response.
Lizzie

Lizzie = My Name
08 = Year I came
Easy enough to understand
On TW[used to because I quit]
Frozen=Last name is frost
electric= It sounded cool! :p
Pibs is from pibble, which is a cutesied-up name for all doggies that go under the generalization of "pit bull" (American Staffordshire Terriers, Staffordshire Bull Terriers, and American Pit Bull Terriers). Since I love pibbles, it just sorta fit. Plus it's catchy... at least I think so. ^^
I wanted it to be original, and include letters from my real name. We were studying Greek/Rome and their Gods/Goddesses so I thought being named after a Goddess would be pretty cool [you know, cause I'm such a Goddess and all:rolleyes:]
And Goddess of Night fit great cause I like the night a hell of alot and her history is cool and all.
So yea ^^

I Found my username on a baby-name site when I was looking for character names, and I wrote a story about a wolf with it. But then I found out on another site what it meant and I liked it and stole it from my character. :)
. . . Yeah, I'm mean.
It means 'wolfish' in Greek, ironic for my character anyway, and I love wolves. :)

Sounds cool are relates to my real name.

I chose my name cause I've always liked penguins, the first book I ever read (voluntarily) was Mr. Poppins Penguins which was about a painter that a circus of penguins. I also thought it'd be a cool super hero one day.
I never did read that.
Now I feel as if I've missed out on childhood. :mellow:

It's a good thing it is, then, isn't it?
It's my real name.
He lies.

Well, I bet Andy isn't YOUR real name.
Midnight_Moon
09-13-2008, 12:58 AM
I really just choose whatever was in my mind at that moment. I like Shootin'_Star but that was kinda cliche so then Midnight_Moon popped into my head; it kinda stuck.

I'm Squint because I seem to squint all the time. I'm part Chinese.

Well, I chose my nick from a youth mystery book series called "The Three Investigators". It comes from the USA, but it was only successful in Germany. The first book was released in 1964 in the USA and translated into German in 1968. The "First investigator"'s name is Jupiter Jones. It is not explicitly said in any book, but Jupe's highly talented. I am too - it was detected when I was six years old (131). So I thought: either JupiterJones, JustusJonas(Jupe's name in the German books and audio plays) or . . . hey! Why not The_First_Invesigator? That's the history of my nick.

P.S: I rejected Carraka's idea to call me "Tuffi" - who would not? :D
Ichigo
09-13-2008, 06:39 PM
Tuffi? hehehe! :devil:
Ichigo = strawberry in Japanese.
But I think nearly everyone knows that by now.
I like it. And I guess it kind of stuck, except I'm called Ichy most of the time. My friends call me Snow White, or Peaches, or Giggles, or one of my other infamous nicknames. [NAPOLEON]
But I like Ichigo. It's...nice.

GAH!
I've read the Three Investigators books in the US! And I think I liked them quite a bit. There was some funny stuff in there. Good mysteries, good wordplay, good treasure hunting. I think I may still own one of the books; I saw it in my dining room (where we no longer dine) yesterday. And I never made that connection until you said Jupiter Jones ... well, of course. Why would I?
JJones is a Tuffi! I personally would not reject that nickname.

That could be an idea for a new poll: would you let others call you what YOU would rather call a dog? :P:D
For me Tuffi is a dog name. Full stop. But if you rather call me a name pretty short, call me Jupe. :D:P:cool:;)
By the way: three years after discontinuance of the T3I series in 1990 it was continued in Germany - so in the USA there are 59 episodes, in Germany there are currently 144 episodes. :)
Diocletian
09-14-2008, 05:37 PM
I chose this username because Diocletian was one of the greatest Roman emperors in the Empire's history (yeah, I'm really into ancient history) and he had many of the same cultural and religious views that I have.

In the short period of time when I used to go to the library, I could only ever find the first seven or eight. I didn't even know there were fifty-nine! Anyway, the rest are in German. I would ask my cousin if he reads them, but ... he doesn't seem the reading type. He might get offended.

Gaah. I named it after one of those Naruto role-playing characters I used to trace.
I DON'T DO THAT ANYMORE! TRUST ME!
Speaking of which... oh, Andyyyyyy? Could you change my username to Shaylyn for me? Pweaaase?

I wish my name didn't have the typo in it though, but at the same time it gives it character.
I always thought your user name was spelled like that on purpose. :p
Shadow

Bahahaha, Andrew's getting besieged by username change requests. I would ask mine to be changed, but I find I have become THE Shadow (not an actual shadow, but that's how I'm now known to everyone). To change it now would only confusion, and it's fine the way it is.

eriko

There is a set of names that I like to use on net. Eriko is just one of them. I hate using my real name. And Eriko has nothing to do with my personality. I just like maybe because I think it is decent.
Silverwolf
11-15-2008, 04:56 AM
I chose it beacuse i like the color silver and my favorite animal ia a wolf.
appleofmyeye
11-20-2008, 03:31 AM
Mine is because-
A) Apples are delicious.
B) The song Apple Of My Eye.
C) And, admittedly, Twilight. It's verrrrrrrry slight but I couldn't resist :).
I chose this username because Diocletian was one of the greatest Roman emperors in the Empire's history (yeah, I'm really into ancient history) and he had many of the same cultural and religious views that I have.
Oh my. THAT'S why whenever I see your username I think of my socials studies teacher!

Final Fantasy VII has been my favorite video game since second grade and RedXIII (Nanaki) was my favorite character when I first played it (hey, i liked cats...). But I couldn't read very well so I said it like Nan-eye-ah-key for some reason. Then when I got older I still liked the name and named a few characters in my stories that. Then I started using it online and here we are!
Brackynn
11-20-2008, 01:10 PM
Brackynn has been my Internet alias for yonks. It all started with a fairy name generator that told me that my fairy name is Bracken Reedwand. I removed the Reedwand because, well, I didn't like it, and changed the spelling of "Bracken" because the first time I tried to sign up for something using that name, it had already been taken.
And thus, Brackynn was born and has stuck to me like glue ever since.
