"The Inferno" in the first part (or rather canticle) of Dante's Divine Comedy. The Inferno is about Dante's decent into Hell. The other parts are "The Purgatorio" (his ascent through Purgatory) and "The Paradiso" (his trip to Heaven). Though the titles are in Italian the text is English; these are all classics written in the early 1300's.

Oh, I know about Dante's Inferno. I don't really like it though.
