First off, I'm sorry I haven't been on in a while, I haven't had much time. NOW:
I have a plot I've been working on. I've fallen in love with my characters. I have it at just the tone I want it! But here's the thing, don't know how done it's been.
First, before I give the plotline, I want you to know that the story is supposed to be a sort of modern variant of Dracula meets the Phantom of the Opera haha. So don't say that it sounds too much like that, okay?
Plot:
A girl, Dehlia, goes to spend the summer with her Aunt. She meets and quickly falls for an hot yet awkward boy, Noah. But one night, she meets eyes with a mysterious figure in shadows, she thinks nothing of it until she runs into him (Thanks to his stalking habits), and he persuades her to join him at his home. Everything goes hazy, and Dehlia awakens to find herself in a strange place. As it turns out, this mystery man, Marius, is a vampire who has become obsessed with her blood, and he will stop at nothing to get her to marry him in a gruesome vampire wedding.

That's it! A couple other notes, I'm not looking to publish it, it's just something fun for me.

Well, it's been done, but never quite like that.

And it certainly sounds exactly like what you said it sounds like.

And since you're not publishing it (but even in this world, you'd probably have a chance,) go for it! And have fun with it!

I hope that you have some original twist planned for the end, though. If the conclusion is just like Phantom or Dracula, then ... it's already been done, just like that.

To my knowledge that has not exactly been done, despite it having several cliche elements. The best thing to do is if you feel like you want to write that, go ahead and do it, and as Carr said, have fun with it. To be realistic, very few of our current projects will get published, though it may be a dream or goal we all here share in common; what matters more, is doing what we love. Like writing is our life, if not necessarily our livelihood.

And remember, the more you write the better you'll get. So, even if this idea turns out to be not marketable, your next one might be fantastic and after working on this project and a few others, you would have bettered your storytelling skills... and yeah... so I agree with Carr...

NO the ending is nothing like phantom or dracula. To my knowledge, the ending has never really been though of by vamp writers before, so that's my main drive. I may post it when it's done, but it'll be a while.
