Any changes you guys would make in our government to improve it?
Do you have a specific government in mind? Otherwise this could get real confusing. :)
*sigh* politics, son of a bitch why am I even getting into this. I already know whatever I say will abruptly be chewed up and spit out at the unmoving corpse I like to call my dignity, pride ran off somewhere, but you guys will find him and kill him to don't worry =p
This isn't a knock on the way the government is run, but more of a knock on something the people complain about the government that we shouldn't. I live in America, America is in a recession, people complain how America is in a recession, government is the scapegoat. The fact is that any capitalist nation will go through peaks and troughs, its just how it is, but in times of prosper it is the people who should save, and use that saved money in times of economic weakness. I guess people ((my family included)) think this is too difficult, and in time of prosper use all their money, and in times of through use all their money. The way to solve this is Marxism, but Marxism has its problems as well, so that isn't always the right answer ((I don't think it is for America at least)), so what I propose is someone educate these people on how to do it the right way, because if the Government starts regulating their money for them to then they'll complain about that. America is like a kid who wants too much candy on halloween even if they know they are going to have to go to the dentist the next day and pay hundreds of dollars in dental...

The problem is not with the system, but the people in power. Unfortunately, a lot of the people in power think what they're doing is right. Also, corporations whose main drive is money, as it should be, has controlled both parties since the '70s, because they (corporate lobbyists) control the politician's purse strings. Unfortunately, the best way to get rid of corruption in the electoral system (since McCain-Feingold failed like a failor in a failboat) is to not have an elected government--but corruption tends to be as bad for that.
How about a government not run by people?

You guys are souding sort of fatalistic. Yes, I know that we have one of the best governments in the world. What I'm talking about is specific reforms that you think might make it better. Worried about political corruption? How would you prevent it, make anyone in executive office go through regular pschological testing to make sure he's still thinking of the people and not himself.
Think about what specific things should be done to make things better.
I get what you mean, I just don't want to dive in because I don't know the same things these guys do. People say 'oh thse guys in command don't know what they're doing' but the good chances are that they know more than you ((or me in this case)) so I feel skeptical to offer any suggestions when I could be completley missing the point with only the biased, incomplete information I get.

Trash all the social programs, they are inefficient. You would need to rebuild public schools on the Belgian model for example.
