View Full Version : Points System Bugs?
Has anyone noticed any errors when the Points System calculates points? I've got one member saying it hardly gives any for some crits, but when I copy and repost their critique, it works fine. Just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same problem.

Both times so far when I've "Submitted More of My Work", the site posts it as a reply. I copy my text, delete the reply, and try again. It works the second time.
EDIT:
Also, just to check. It's supposed to be impossible to bold, color words in my story, right?

Carr, that happened to me, too. When I previewed my work, it switched it to the "replying to a critique" one. After I previewed, I switched it to the correct one, and then posted and it worked.
I hadn't thought of that possibility. I'll work on it.

Ok, this isn't the point system, but it started doing this when the point system was put into effect.
My posts are getting screwed up. It'll stay on 199 for like 5 posts... I has been doing that for like 5 days, to me at least.

Maybe it's because the posts are in the common room and Random Game forums, I don't think those count =towards your post count

Well dang! Ok, I lied no problem with me then!
I don't think points ever counted in Random Games.
I just updated the post counts for the entire site, and Phantom, your post count didn't change. Just to be sure, I searched for your posts in random games, then added their total it to your post count. The result was the total number of posts you've made. I don't think there's anything wrong there.

Really? Ok, well... I'm confused.
Don't worry about me though. :)

Posts in SBS should count, because SBS is that awesome. Plus, a few of those posts took actual energy to write ... you know how hard it is for me to do consistent humor?

Problem fixed. It will now remember your choice when you preview your post.
*dishes out Thanks*
That takes care of the bugs mentioned thus far. Any others?

Yay! Can I be curious and ask what happened? I'm technologically-inept, but seeing as the world is heading in a technical direction, maybe I should make an effort to learn something.
EDIT:
Just something I noticed. When you search for other chapters of the Tiberious story, the search pretty much fails. That's probably because there are no other Tiberious prologues and no other Tiberious chapters.
... Yes, that means I have been reading stories and not commenting on them.

Well, when you preview your post, the post's title is stored as a variable. In any other forum, the value of the title's text box is set to whatever the title's variable says.
In the Literature forum, I forgot to make the title variable affect the drop-down list's option.

Interesting. I'll work on it.
