View Full Version : Merchandise Phrases
Okay, as a lot of you already know, soon we'll start selling YWO merchandise. And to make it more interesting, we need ideas for phrases to put on the shirts and stuff. For example:
YoungWritersOnline.net
(Your Phrase Goes Here)
You get the idea. So we need ideas! Writing puns, clever quotes, maybe a few inside jokes. We intend to use a lot of them, so suggest as many as you can!

Anyone think it would be funny to have something that resembled the Geek Squad thing, only for YWO (like, Critique Squad or some such)...I think so...but that's me.
I must say....I find your lack of 100,000 posts in this thread disturbing.
These are going on shirts we will be selling, everyone! The shirts are being designed now. I intend to buy a couple and then post pictures of me on campus wearing them! Post some more ideas. Post a hundred, if you like a challenge. Or I shall come after you or spam your email addresses with offers of free iPhones! :O

On a side note, maybe we could have phrases that aren't directly related to YWO? You know, funny sayings and what not. It'd be nice to market shirts to a wider audience since YWO shirts really aren't very interesting to non-YWO folks.
Anyone have any catchy phrases, funny things, etc.?

Thanks everyone for the suggestions thus far. Feel free to make more. I've gone through all of them and selected the ones I think will work best for both YWO stuff and non-YWO stuff. I should have a load of t-shirts up and ready to go tomorrow, depending on when Andy gets online to give me the "OK' on various shirts, since I'm still a bit unsure of the direction for some of them. There'll be a heck of a lot of new stuff over the next few days.
Remember, if we don't have something you want in the store, tell us!

Several more shirts up. It's in the product line "Random Phrases". Only two phrases, but there are white and black shirts, male and female, and you should be able to customize the type of shirt to anything you want (except you have to choose dark colors for the black shirt one and light for the other due to the text being different colors in each).
I'll hopefully have a load more up as I go. It takes me forever to get this many variations just for two shirts...

Haha, cool. Why don't we have the YWO Ambigram Logo as our site header-thing? I think it looks better. Or do we want it to look professional?
We want a first-time visitor to be able to read the site's title without too much difficulty. :)
Or, weed out the LITERATE ones who think that our handwriting's horrible.

Once finished, there will be what looks like words on the under paper, "by you" crossed out under "by me", and the whole thing darkened with pen. Now, my sister thought the piece of paper the figure is writing on looked like a bad drawing of a book, but it's supposed to be the top page of a manuscript. What do people think? How should I fix it, and is there anything I should add/change?
Shaun
04-23-2009, 08:23 AM
Hey Majyk, maybe that would be a bit big for this and hard to understand. Could you make it something smaller so the whole book fits into the image and you could have the stick figure holding the book and writing "By Me" (w/ the crossed out "By You" obviously)? I think that would be better for getting the imagery across.
Shaun

Well, it's time for some new shirts everyone!
First things first, some quick notes:
I will be lowering prices on a lot of stuff in the Zazzle store, primarily on t-shirts. I think we're overcharging right now, so I'll drop the prices a bit and sacrifice the extra royalties (it's the right thing to do). New shirts will be at the new prices, and I will be working on reducing prices for everything else later.
Also, you can select different shirt styles if you don't like the one I use for default (just click the link for shirt style in the interface). You can also change some of the colors and what not.
In any case, here goes:
