I am looking for a good book to read over the next few days.
My dad suggested the book 'The Kite Runner'
Anyone read it? Would you reccomend it as a real page turner?
Thanks.

I recommend it only if you can handle a major dose of reality. I was slightly depressed after reading some parts of the book. It is an amazing novel though.

Excellent story, if at times a little predictable and cliche. It's depressing and can be very graphic, though if you can handle stories that involve one of the most disgusting crimes imaginable, I definitely recommend it. Hosseini also isn't what I'd called an expert stylist. At times he seems to fumble around with his descriptions; however, his characterization skills and his ability to draw the reader into the story are exceptional. Definitely read it, if you think you can handle such a story.

I hope this helps and isn't too late.

Finished it and absolutely loved it.
Khaled Hosseini is one of my new writing idols

This book made my high school English teacher cry. I don't get that emotionally involved with what I'm reading, but the book kind of left me feeling sad, yet like hopeful, though I don't think that's the right word...
