View Full Version : YWO's Place on the Web (Good News)
I have two exciting announcements about YWO's status in the world wide web.
We were recently named as a "Young Writers' Surfspot"in the July 2008 edition of the online magazine "Scriptorium Scribbles." It's a webzine specifically for young writers, and thus has many helpful articles and resources. Here's the link (http://www.thescriptorium.net/youth.html). YWO is listed on the third column from the left.
Second, YWO has achieved a Google Pagerank of 3/10. If you're not familiar with Pageranks, they're a measurement by Google of how important your site is on the web, based on how many other large or important sites are linking to it.
A new site will have a Pagerank of 0/10, while Google's rank is currently 10/10. Three may not sound very impressive, but it's a good improvement over our previous rank of zero. Sites with a higher rank can generally ask for more money from sponsors as well. :)
If you're interested in checking a site's Pagerank, there are hundreds of sites that will find it for you, such as this one (http://pr.blogflux.com/).

Awesome! How did we get into Scriptorium Scribbles? Did they just randomly notice us?
I believe so. Shaun and I knew nothing about it until we found them linking to us. :)

Pretty good! Hopefully we'll get some members from over there.
My EC thread on TW has a page rank of 2/10 ... I can't believe I bothered to check. Shaun's blog has a higher PR than this site. (:

Shaun's blog is...really good so.. doesn't surprise me. He deserves it.
THIS IS COOL! But I mean you figure they could've...let us somehow know that we were going to be listed in this online magazine. It's still cool though...

I tried that pagerank site, how do you work it? O_o
It's all blank except from som links and the title . . .
Woo! That's awesome, YWO's becoming more popular so fast..:D
Yea I have the same problem as Lyk with site.
Here's another Pagerank checker (http://www.build-reciprocal-links.com/pagerank.html).
And if that doesn't work, you can always do a Google search.

I've also been working on my blog for almost 2 years, so I should have a higher pagerank, but don't be surprised when YWO surpasses me. I don't get nearly the traffic YWO does (which isn't a bad thing, since my blog is, well, one blog, rather than loads of blogs or sections or whatever). More of you should read my blog, hint hint, wink wink. Glad you think the blog is good Ichi.
Anywho, good news for YWO :). We're going to take over the world :P. You just wait :).
