View Full Version : Points System Complete
We've finally finished updating the literature section. There are now separate areas for short stories and novels. If your work somehow isn't in the proper section, PM Shaun or myself.
The point system has been tested a great deal, and should work exactly as it is described here (http://www.youngwritersonline.net/showthread.php?t=1338). If you encounter any problems, or something isn't working quite right, PLEASE PM me.
Your current point count is listed below your name at the left of each post (except in the Common Room).
All your literature posts located within your own threads will have a darker gray left side. (Example (http://www.youngwritersonline.net/showthread.php?t=80)) From now on, though, only things you post as "submissions" will be darker. (What's the difference? (http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m71/teenwrite/reply_own.gif))
You've all got 10 points to start off.
Any questions or such can be posted here.

Yeah, I saw your testing ...
xP I would test, but I just burned an hour on something very important, and I should be editing.
EDIT: Is there a way to get rid of all those annoying "Moved thread" announcements?

...Nifty.:P
It looks nice. Thanks.

Are there still some in the new literature forums? I'll go delete them.

What about the organized kiddos like me? Y'know...I place all my chapters and chapter parts within the first post, hidden in spoiler tags. (See Wolfgang - Steel for an example). What course of action do you think I should take?

Well, what you could do is give each one its own post, and then link to individual posts. If you click the number at the top-right corner of any post, it will be opened in a page with its own URL, with the quote button already at the bottom.
That will probably make it easier on critters also - they don't have to delete all the chapters they're not critting if they quote your first post.

Haha! I, in my all-knowing foresight, already arranged everything in Andy's recommended fashion!
Okay, no -- I copied an idea from someone on TW, but still ... Ha!

So, I just post links to the posts on in the first posts?
I'll give it a try.
Oh, and letters in quote tags don't count unless they red, right? (Forgive me if this whole new system confuses me)

They can be bold, or any color except black. Text outside of quote tags counts also.

Thanks. But what about the posts I already have is spoilers? Do I go rearrage those? Or do I stick to that same system for that thread only, since it might be too disruptive to, well, sort things out.
You can just leave the things in spoilers alone. Or if you want I can give you enough points to resubmit them as posts.

I gotta say, I'm digging the new point system.

I hoard money, so I'm not going to be surprised when I hoard my points.
I suppose I can't critique again until someone critiques EC, because I don't want to go over thirty. Come back to me tomorrow, and perhaps you'll find me much-changed.
