Wouldn’t They Desalt the Ocean?
By: sXe_Jinxeh
Sitting on the bank of the river Styx
Watching my life implode
Frustrated by the scandals
And all the lies we’re told
I’m looking for a way to get out
But my rope keeps coming up short
I’m desperate for a way to escape
This heavily guarded fort
[Chorus]
But maybe you
Can save me from my soul
Keep me from
This unavoidable toll
Protect me from the end
Protect me from the war
Protect me
From all that I stand for
There’s an empty bottle
Floating past Charon
There’s a lost soldier
Standing on the bank
We keep watching and waiting
For everything to change
But nobody cares
Nobody cares
[Chorus]
Coins in the mouth will save your life
Coins in the mouth will save your life
Coins in the mouth will save your life
But don’t count on greed
Coins in the mouth will save your….
Protect me
The Beast of London
By: GeorgeMichael
Old Man:
Beyond the forest of London town
There lies a creature of great renown
He comes and goes each midnight’s night
He leaves the citizens filled with fright
William(SPOKEN):
What creature? What sir?
*A woman comes out of a house*
Woman:
A beast of size unknown but vast
With strength unmatched and mighty fast
He’s called upon by the full grown moon
And he’ll be at your doorstep impeccably soon.
Both:
Don’t look back now just keep going
Hour by hour the threat keeps growing
Turn your head and you’ll be done
Face to face with the Beast of London
William(SPOKEN):
And what is the beast? Can it be stopped?
*A police officer comes from down the street*
Police Officer:
Courageous men have sent campaigns
Though all attempts have been in vain
The creature lurks deep in the dark
And should you live you’ll bear a mark
William(SPOKEN):
A mark?
Woman:
A mark of the worst kind young sir
To disappear once you sprout fur
An Omen dear of things to come
A turn of events of what you’ll become
Old Man:
The virus eats away from inside
And from yourself you cannot hide
You’ll scream and burn as it devours
And you’ll be dead by the end of the hour
All:
Fear the full moon, flee as it shines
Creature fights and tears out our spines
There’s no chance to fight against one
One of the Beasts of London
William(SPOKEN):
One of them? There are more than one.
A howl is heard in the distance…
Woman:
One approaches, search for cover
Old Man:
There, in the air, above it hovers
Police Officer:
Run now sir before you’re undone!
All:
Done undone by the Beast of London!
Something comes from the darkness and screams are heard as the Old Man, Woman, and Police Officer are smashed into bits, their blood and guts splattered on the streets.
Something New
By: Nanyoky
Charlie Jones is just a silly girl
She says one day ‘I might give it a whirl,
To ride the sun, to fight the rain
Even if it might drive me insane.’
So she goes down to the city with her violin case
Sees a silly boy carryin his contra bass
She says ‘what you doin with your strings here?’
He says ‘You’ll know if you’ll just lend me your ear’
Charlie Jones thinks the world spins round
On honey bees and sweet smooth sound
She don’t know no one who would do her wrong
So she sits at home and writes her love song
So Charlie sits down on the side walk there
The sun caught in her deep chocolate hair
She listens while he plays that blues slap bass
All the while, just watchin his face
She says, ‘Boy that sounds pretty good,
But you know maybe not like it should.’
He says ‘What do ya mean, Miss Pretty Eyes?’
And it takes a moment till Charlie replies;
‘A song should be, sweet as honey
shouldn’t be singin it, for power or money
A song should make, a girl feel great
With a little feelin that she can relate.’
He looks at her for a second or two
He says, ‘Girl, haven’t you ever been blue?’
‘I’ve been down,’ Charlie admits
‘But it’s only been for pieces and bits.’
Michael Gray is a thoughtful boy
He brought his bass down from Illinois
He caught a bus to take his chance
For gettin more than a passin glance
He thought he might just play a show
In the big city where people know
How to spot a rising star
Even if it’s from their speedin car
So he played his bass for a girl down there
The sun caught in her pretty brown hair
He’s never met a silly one like this
One that sorrow so easy will dismiss
He don’t really know just what to say
He stares at her with blatant dismay
She smiles back at him and asks him polite
Where he’s playin his bass tonight
These two string players came to show the world
The amazin talent that they’ve been hurled
They couldn’t be more contrary
If they didn’t both sing like a canary
And maybe, they’ll find their other side
In each other a safe house, they can confide
They might just learn a little thing or two
If he tried a smile or she sang the blues
