I was stupid and this was stupid. GROSSSS.
I haven't read it yet, but I really want to. Good to know that she's improving her writing style, right now I'm re-reading New Moon and just realizing how her descriptions get really weak at some parts.

Not only are they weak, but they're repetitive too.
She really doesn't do that in The Host and I'm really excited for her for not doing that.
Brava Stephy!
Alright, well due to your high comments about it: I just put it on hold at the library xD

It was really really good. One of those weird romances that I just don't want to give up...
I love falling in love with characters in books. The only problem with that is that they aren't real. :(
Maybe I'll find me an !#$ Ian someday.

I might read this some day if I have time.
I've shied away from Twilight on purpose, because I'm afraid I'm still at that susceptible age where I'll like it. But maybe Host wouldn't be so bad. Aaah, it all depends. My friends enjoy it though (and these are the smart friends), so it can't be too off.

I found the beginning a little slow, but it picked up in the middle. There were times when I'd look up and realized that I'd been absorbed for hours.
It's one of those books and main characters that made me close the book and want to go off and do some good in the world haha.
I was a little dissatisfied with the ending and some of the plot -- but very glad that I took the time to read it!
Circe.

This book, seriously saved my life. Well not really, but I cried reading it<like constanly. It was like a drip of water falling from my eye the whole book>. I didn't even know I could cry still. I'm so emotional all the time now, and I swear it's because of this book. It's weird, but I'm really happy...for myself.
I started reading it, and then stopped for a while. But then when it got further in, I read it in two sit downs. Reading into the wee hours of the night, and then I re-read it. It wasn't so emotional the second time, but I guess that's to be expected.
THANK YOU TSUKI FOR MENTIONING THIS BOOK. Changed my freakin life.
I want an Ian. For Christmas.

it happens to most every writer.......writing a book is'nt an easy task and people learn a lot and improve a lot as well after there first book is around....you see can see weakness in sorcerer's stone as well but JK Rowling certainly improved a lot afterwards........any ways how is twilight the book compared to the movie??????

That's very well done. It wouldn't necessarily be quite difficult, but it takes time.
As to the book. I read Twilight on a recommendation, it was quite a good book. I never bothered to continue on with the series as I felt that the plot was leaning more towards the feminine psyche.

i whloeheartedly agree with this review. i read twilight, and i didnt like it that much, but i thought the host was soooooo much better. i cant believe its the same author.
No offense to anyone, but this isn't much of a review. Give us summaries, character insights, what did you like and what did you hate about the book. You can't just say it's "believable" and "emotional". You have to explain why they're believable and emotional. I can't believe this had more comments than those other reviews that really has info into them.

I've read this book a while ago- like half a year ago. I don't really know weather I liked it that much or not. I guess it was ok for a short and fast reading, but this is one of the books that just dissapears from my mind when I finish it. Nothings stays. Empty. The plot was ok, descriptions interesting enough to read, but that is all.

Okay, Stephenie has improved in her writing abilities so much since Twilight. I mean, the woman's whole style was better! Her characters were believable, her plotline was believable, I mean, it was very emotional.
I've had a quote from the book in my sig for a while now, and I'd just like to tell you guys that that was my favorite quote from the book.

While I liked the Host so much better than Twilight, I will admit with disappointment that she seriously needs to get over describing people's eyes. It is seriously annoying to me. That and her apparent addiction to characters who are presented as "intelligent, yet...weak". But I'll let it pass since Wanda's an alien. :p
