Okay, so I just finished this trilogy last night. It was so good that I cried. :/ The books grab your soul and hold onto it until you can't let go without someone else's help, if you get what I'm saying.
You're emotionally attached to this one guy...
Kartik
I fell in love with him. You will too, unless you're a guy and you're straight. :P
Well, I give the trilogy as a whole, a
8.5/10

Curses, Libba Bray is not in my Libabry. Er, Library. So I can't check the book out right now (both meanings of "check out".)
I've seen many people reading this, though, and while I'm usually skeptical about popular things I should try it too.

I'm also skeptical about such popular things, especially because the people that like these series also like Twilight. Then again, they also like Harry Potter, and people that also like Harry Potter like George R. R. Martin, so maybe I should stop being so arrogant. But I have to ask: If a book "grabs your soul" and makes you fall in love with a guy (HE CAN'T BE BETTER THAN JAIME), how come the series only gets a 7/10?

The ending killed me inside.
She could've (and should've in my opinion) chosen another way to do it. :/

Wow. If the ending is so bad that it means three points off ... that says a lot.

I'm simply a little vexed at the author. She could've ended it a different way. But, no, she had to go and do that. :ninjablade:
Two of my friends read them too and they both liked them to that point.
And I suppose it should be an 8/10. ^^
I've been told off for being too generous in my reviews. Haha.
They're really great until the end. :lookout:

I love to hate sad endings, so frankly I'd consider that a plus. They judge the author's success at creating and redeeming their characters, and the sadder you are the greater the author is. Of course, an utter downer is never pleasing.
Or are the endings bad because they're actually badly done and not necessarily sad? That's different. That sucks.
"(HE CAN'T BE BETTER THAN JAIME)"
Surely you don't mean Lannister?! Or has the letter V become "IME" in Carrakan?

You're right on that. lol
I just didn't want it to happen, you know?
Ok it's fixed. 8.5/10

I LOVE this series. I'm reading The Sweet Far Thing now.
Over 800 pages...
I like how this series is so unique, blending history with a unique mystical atmosphere.

I was at Barnes and Noble and I bought The Sweet Far Thing. After I found out it was the third in a trilogy *face palm*. Oopsies. Now I want to read the series more.
