. . . Hmmm, tough one . . .

Peter Pan by JM Barrie, it was such a great idea. :)

Lord of the Rings. That would have been fun. :)

The Alex Rider series. It would be an honor.

(My first choice would have been the Book of Revelations, but then I decided the honor was too high for me :P)

All the Stephen King books. That would be awesome. ^^

Probably Stargirl. I really admire Jerry Spinelli

Harry Potter (the entire series).

Why? Because I would be ten times cooler about it than Rowling has been.

Hah! :D What would you do with the money, though. I hope you don't just run off and leave YWO stranded. Andy would be so ticked off :P

I'd buy a lifetime supply of hosting for YWO at the highest possible level. Then I'd create a $10,000 YWO College Scholarship for YWO members to earn for their future education. Then I'd change the YWO magazine so I can pay all contributors a significant chunk of money and make the magazine a competitive market. I'd also ramp up the printing on it so it looked totally awesome.

After that, I'd buy a nice house for Imelda and I with a huge library with those rolling stair things. Not a super expensive crazy huge house though. I'd want a nice place, custom built, large enough for me and Imelda, with a guest room and room for two kids in a wonderful location that is perfect for us.

After that I'd make sure all my schooling got finished (I want a PhD.) and I'd pay my student loans off. Then I'd retire and write for the rest of my life (although I might consider teaching part time just for the hell of it).

I'm sure there is more to all this, but I don't know what it is at the moment.

Tsk... Harry Potter was taken... and so was Lord of the Rings...

Not Books per se...but anything written/created by Stan Lee (Marvel Creator) I mean he's made so many incredible comics and stories!!!

and of course the money is nothing to complain about :)

Dammit, Shaun, why didn't you write Harry Potter? :glare:

And can I also have an antique desk with secret compartments pretty please? Then my life would be officially perfect. :D

I don't know which book I'd like to have written ... I could say Neil Gaiman's stuff, but I don't think I'd actually want to write those, they're too weird. :p

Maybe A Song of Ice and Fire? (Sorry Car :p) They're the kind of stuff I like to write, only about a bazillion times better and more complex. But then I guess GRRM's had a lot more life experience and planning time ...

Oh oh! I'd be the author of The Third Essence, and Maegic. I want them written. :( And dammit, it's been so long I can't even remember if I spelt maegic right ...

I know its gonna sound stupid but I wouldn't want to have written any of the books that I love.

If I had written them, maybe those authors that I love wouldn't have gotten much sucess, or they never would have gotten that great story that made them famous.

It's messing with the future you know? I wouldn't want to do that.

What if by some chance, writing a Stephen King story messed up his career and he had a never ending writers block!

Ahh!

But yeah, I would be afraid to do that. You never know what would happen....

Yeah, same here. Besides I would rather be famous for my music instead of my writing, better at it, in my opinion.

If I had to pick one of course I'd pick ASoIaF, but I'd rather not pick ...

As much as I love those stories, it doesn't feel right to be thinking about it. I suppose I'd rather succeed on my own merits, as much as they are lacking.

Ahahaaa ... sentence.

Ulysses??? But James Joyce is completely insane!

I hope you mean that in a good way. xD

Maybe...but you've got to admit, Joyce is completely and utterly nuts. My English teacher was reading Ulysses for a while this year, and he had like three extra "How to Understand Ulysses" books to go along with it, just to get anything out of it. That said, if you want to be that crazy and cryptic, go ahead. Writing like that might actually be really fun. :]

I would never buy three books just to understand one other. I love work that has mystery to it, as well as poetry and art. His language is beautiful to me.

That said, Ulysses utterly bamboozles me. One day, though... one day...

It could have to do with your age too. I noticed that when I first read 1984 by George Orwell it was clear to me what was going on, but there was a lot I didn't quite understand. I read it again a couple years later and all sorts of things popped out to me that I never saw before. So perhaps Ulysses is simply beyond your current level and you need to keep developing your reading ability?
